Southern New Mexico Speedway hosts two multi-day events each year featuring Modified drivers from all over the country; The Fall Nationals, normally in early November and The Winter Meltdown which is usually held in March. I have recorded these events since 2000, which I believe was one of the first of the series. Originally two-day shows, the events have grown to average close to 100 Modified entries each year and now span three-days. The Winter Meltdown is also referred to as The Chub Daniels Memorial, in honor of Chub Daniels, D&M Performance, who was a regular attendee and fielded several championship cars at this event before he passed away.
