New DVD Giveaway Contest

Those of you that have visited my Facebook Page are probably aware of the Video Challenge contests that offer a chance to win a free race DVD.  I had hoped to do one of those every week, but it takes time to find a suitable clip and get it posted online for the contest, so I have decided to try something new that would allow more people a chance to win.  I'll still do Video Challenges from time-to-time, but not every week.

This will actually be a weekly drawing rather than a contest, and all you need to do to be eligible to win is become a Fan (Like) www.Facebook.com/HighDesertVideo, which you can do by clicking the Like button in the Fan Box on this site or on my FB page (if you are not already a Fan). Each week, one Fan will be selected at random to receive a free Standard Definition DVD of the current week's race (EPSP or SNMS, your choice). Winner can upgrade DVD to BluRay for $5 difference in price. There will be a $3 shipping charge, only if winner is unable to pick up the video locally or at the track.

You will probably have to trust me that the drawing is random because I don't know of any way to do that in a transparent way on FB, but I assure you that every FB Fan will have an equal chance to win.  The selection method hasn't been determined yet, but I'm leaning toward a random number generator (computer program) that delivers a number between 1 and the total number of High Desert Video Fans at the time of the drawing with each Fan being assigned a number based on the date/time you "Liked" the page (earliest Fan=1).

I think the Fan list stays in chronological order and the only time your assigned number would change is if someone below you on the list decides to "Unlike" the page. (Don't know why anyone would do that but you never know).  In any case, the winner would be the Fan with the corresponding number at the time the number was generated.

I'm open to other ideas for selecting a winner, so if you think something else might work better, please let me know.

I will hold the first drawing sometime during the week of 7/24/11 thru 7/30/11 and announce the winner immediately thereafter.
