Talking with Rick the other day, he told the story of some difficulty he had getting approval from Traxxas, one of the largest manufacturers of RC products in the world, to accept Rick's Performance Center as one of their authorized dealers, particularly for their Nitro models. For some reason, Traxxas felt that particular product line should only be sold in Hobby Shops. When Rick explained to the Traxxas rep that Rick's Performance Center was the "Ultimate Hobby Shop" for big boys and their toys, the representative from Traxxas had to concede, and the rest is history!

After immediate success with the Traxxas line of products over a year ago, Rick soon added the Mini-Late Model and Mini-Sprint cars from Losi and more recently, the Scout RC Helicopter from E-Flight (Blade Helicopters). I also noticed a Losi Mini-Rock Crawler on the counter the last time I was in the store. Just as a side note, I've got my eye on one of the larger Blade helis as my next RC purchase (don't tell my wife, she doesn't know about that yet).

As with just about anything racing or hot rod related, if Rick doesn't stock it, he can almost certainly get it for you, and this also applies to RC cars, trucks, helis and parts. Find something online that you just have to have, and then check with Lloyd or Greg at Rick's Performance Center and give them a shot at the sale. Help our local economy by spending your hard-earned dollar with local businesses whenever possible. You might be surprised at just how competitive they can be, and everyone would rather deal face-to-face than over the Internet, right?
